Winskill Swimmers the Pride of Tswwassen at SFU-Gators LMR

The Winskill Dolphins Swim Club opened the 2009-2010 competitive swim season with a bang at the SFU-Gators LMR meet!  Clubs from across the Lower Mainland attended this ice-breaker competition to shake the summer cobwebs off their Speedos.   But young Winskill swimmers hit the ground running at SFU, showing no lack of alertness or urgency, and promptly picked up where they left off from last season’s successes.

The huge performers of the meet were Tai Long Singh (8) and Kathryn Reilly (8).   Singh won 100m Freestyle, 200m Individual Medley, and 50m and 200m Backstroke.  Reilly won 100m Freestyle, 200m Individual Medley, and 50m Backstroke.  Teammates Isaiah Rusak-Gillrie (10) and Paul Zou (10) swam the fastest 200m Backstroke and 50m Fly of the meet for their ages.

In the 1500m Freestyle, Winskill swimmers dominated, placing first, second, and third in every age category, accept one, with Taylor Reilly (11), Sidney Peake (13), Brittany Mageau (14), Vito Zou (13), and Colin Jones (18) claiming top spots.  Congratulations to Ryan Anderson (15), a 1500m rookie, who placed 2nd in his first distance event!
