Winskill Dolphins in L.A. on Team BC for Pacific Coast All-Star Meet

This past weekend, Winskill Dolphin swimmers travelled to Cerritos California representing Team B.C. at the Pacific Coast All-Star Meet.  Of thirty-two swimmers on the Team B.C., eight were Winskill Dolphins (1/4 of the team)!  The contingent was led by veteran swimmer Noemie Thomas (13), who won gold in both the 100 and 200 yard Butterfly.  Thomas also placed third on her 200 Freestyle relay.  McKenzie Summers (14), along with Thomas, came second place on the 200 Medley relay and third on the 400 Medley relay.  Meghan Kwiatkowski (14) boosted her relay into second place in a very tight 400 Freestyle race.   Vito Zhou (13) and Luke Reilly (14) both led their events for Team B.C.

For the Dolphins, the meet was marked by strong performances from first-time Team B.C. members Nunu Singh (12), Sarah Yeo (12), and Markus Thormeyer (12), who all scored points at the meet.  Thormeyer even managed a second place finish in his 200 Freestyle relay!

Winskill Dolphins Head Coach Tom Rushton, who travelled with Team B.C. as 13-14 Girls Coach, was pleased with the results: “It’s great to see new kids making the team [Singh, Yeo, and Thormeyer] and hopefully we'll have a lot more young swimmers who are inspired by their performances and choose to dedicate themselves to making the next selection in February.”

In February, Team B.C. again selects its members from the top racers in the province for a duel meet against Team Alberta to be held in Kamloops.

Congratulations Dolphins!
